DUE TO the switch to the euro, many banking functions will be limited, especially on the night from December 31 to January 1.
The most significant are the restrictions on card payments, which is why the banks have already sent an appeal to citizens to prepare cash for New Year's Eve and night. All banks will have an interruption in the operation of cards, but how long this interruption will last depends on which bank you are at.
In some banks, the cards will not work for hours, and in others only for a few minutes. Here's an overview.
Zagrebačka banka
Zagrebačka banka has informed its users that due to the technical adjustment of the system to the euro, it will not be possible to use debit and credit cards and Zaba ATMs from Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 10:55 p.m. until Sunday, January 1, 2023 during the night hours. The bank recommended to users that "for payments during the New Year's weekend, stock up on cash sufficient for their needs in advance".
"Clients will not be able to use the Bank's debit and credit cards for individual and business users from Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 10:55 p.m. until Sunday, January 1, 2023, during the night hours.
Card payments on the Internet, which must be confirmed with an m-token, will be possible from the afternoon of January 1, 2023, when online banking becomes available.

Privredna banka Zagreb
Privredna banka Zagreb has informed users that the cards will not work from 11 pm on December 31 until 1 am or 4 am, depending on the card.
Thus, PBZ Visa debit cards for citizens will have a temporary interruption in operation from 11:00 p.m. on December 31, 2022 to 1:00 a.m. on January 1, 2023.
